This year Dior, one of the world’s most famous ateliers, is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a coffee-table book: The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture which will be released on November 28th by Artbook. In a series of themes, the couture house’s rich history unfolds, highlighting the milestones of the six designers' who’ve interpreted Christian Dior’s signature silhouette since his death in 1957: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and currently, the first female, Maria Grazia Chiuri.
In addition to over 100 images, leading fashion writer Lydia Kamitsis and curators Katie Somerville and Danielle Whitfield narrate Dior’s history, and give insight into what has kept it so revered for 70 years. Click through for a preview.
