Living in My Skin: 8 People Reveal Why They Love Their Freckles, Moles, and More

Back in January, we introduced you to our "Beauty Guides" — four issues of Allure that, in 2018, would be dedicated to one specific feature. We started with the eyes, rounding up the undereye products dermatologists use on themselves, dedicating an entire photo shoot to makeup for people with monolids, compiling the best eye makeup tips we've ever heard, and more. For our second beauty guide — featuring model and activist Adwoa Aboah) — we dedicated the entire issue to the skin, investigating the latest treatments, trends, and products. But we wanted to go deeper than surface level (literally) on the topic. We wanted to explore how our skin and all its complexities can shape our personalities and our paths. To do that, associate editor Loren Savini chatted with eight models about how their bumps, divots, and spots have come to tell their stories — and their happy endings.
